bmurator US Raw Black Metal. All the other comments say it better than me, particularly nofatclips! This is indeed the soundtrack to a movie I'd love to watch! What a fun album this is, I shall be digging through the discog. soon! No faves & highly recommended!!!

YomaBarr Hehe. I'll put it this way: this is like lousy, low produced, vampyric BM version of Kastiphas. And it can be fun
😝
Fistful of DOOM

Fistful of DOOM First things first, I'm not a favorite track kind of guy. The whole album has to kill or I don't fuck with it.

If you are in the market for
dark, sadistic, sci-fi induced black metal then look no further. This album will piss off all your friends that claim to be into metal.

End Scene 01:46
The limelight will age you But it will never let you die We are all acting in the scene of a movie And the script is torn between truth and lie You will play the part that kills you Until your blood runs dry
2.
Playing Dead 02:16
Hurting me, you are hurting me Fists and curses, violent words Face in gravel and carrion birds They screech like they are hungry And I am Playing Dead Beyond the gate of the schoolyard A woman with glassy eyes glances Sees you all, she fights your advances She curses the way you are And as the weeks go by, one at a time Your bodies fill boxes carried by hearses Your deaths bewildering doctors and nurses Your bodies placed in the ground covered in lyme But you are not Playing Dead
3.
There is no reason To pretend that death Is the worst thing Awaiting us Men wage wars Mutilate their minds Call what they know intelligence Hide the truth of their maleficence We are the Vampires We dropped our bombs to soften their defenses Only managed to wake up the dead Shadows traipsing along the hill of bones Where the dead are prepared to meet us We are the Vampires In war, everything is possible Blood pressure drops, a gun to your head Which is louder Machine gun fire or the screams of the dead Blood pressure drops, a gun to your head Machine gun fire or the screams of the dead
4.
Where are you going And why are you going there There are so many options And you insist on dying there Divine Right of Kings Divine right of things To be recast even if unsaid And divinely Undead Have you ever considered acting Ever considered dressing in someone else’s skin All I have is advice Nothing thicker, nothing thinner But have you ever considered Wearing someone else’s skin? You shouldn't take advice from a king Though you might take heed Of what ideas charge your mind Later after the wine settles Wearing someone else’s skin
5.
Ten Years 02:36
Overnight sensation Ten years in the making It’s yours for the taking Never mind all the fakers Ten years in the flash of an eye Ten years in a bloodbath Sensation overnight Wrought of something timeless Age is a construct of the young The older you get, the closer you come To being young enough To define your beginnings
6.
Monster Mask 02:26
I have learned to speak Using only my mask Made of the skin of the dead I have found my place I am the monster I am the villain I am the restless urge To dump your body in the lake You will learn to love me I will earn my own delirium What’s most obvious will prevail Like every hammer to each nail
7.
Sun and Soil 02:13
Henriette we will not be wed Your father will deny me my rest Unless the King of Sweden himself Should say my aim is true And what is more is really true That you deserve more than me Than I deserve you And so an actor’s life I shall lead But not an actor’s wife shall you be Not a leading man, always the foil You are the sun and I am the soil
8.
Standing before you At the top of the stairs I am the phantom of the future I am the sex and the pain I am blood like rain upon a coffin Nothing will be the same again Full color horror Close the door and kiss her goodbye You can drive a stake through my thrall And yet never understand me at all
9.
I need not speak I have looks that kill If you will bleed for me I will absolve your will Prince of Darkness Prince of Death Meet me in the charnel house I will entomb your living breath I am the Prince of Darkness I am the Prince of Death
10.
If I slip through the night’s sky Know it wasn’t for lack of footing My star is not tied to my horror Oh, what a horror is my star The lady told me there would be days like this Days you couldn’t even die I lie in wonder of my decisions And cast a spell upon my doom
11.
Orthanc 02:17
Let us return to the war Between the light and the dark It is the type of war that we like to read about No more of the grays and the nuance And while you are encouraged by heroism And the valor of heroic ideals I shall be stabbing you thrice through your lungs Just so I can remember how that feels Film me atop my tower Let my eyes pierce you through the screen The rushes are done, but the war isn’t won No less, I shall show you exactly what I mean I will travel across green hills I will set fire to your love I will rearrange the details I will fall from above I will make you fall once again for evil And then dispatch you before you can say That you were deceived, my friend we all were deceived In the end you learn that was always the only way
12.
Swordplay 02:43
Fencing and dancing and speaking in languages Meant to convince you that the flame does not burn Give me your time and I’ll give you a shiver I am the villain your merit has earned Don’t call me creative, my vocation is not pure I am only here to destroy Not until I am bloody and satisfied Will I give an inch Strike up a cool conversation Over brandy and cigars and swordplay Meet me at the club dressed ready for the match And prepare to be met by my saber The woman who followed me home When I was just a child Had teeth like daggers And she set me on my course
13.
Undead 01:52
If I gave my heart If I gave my crown If I gave my life To be undead To be remembered To be remembered To be remembered Beyond the book of time

about

"A nightmarish but insidiously seductive experience." — No Clean Singing

"The soundtrack to you painting your nails black with sharpie back in 10th grade. But in a cool way... it takes the feeling of today’s LLN-worshipping black metal bands and combines it with the technique of old-school deathrock and post-punk. Perfect for a night of 1970s European vampire flicks." — Decibel

"It’s their subject matter – their obsession with the actors and directors who brought vampires to life onscreen and embedded them into our collective subconscious – that sets them apart from the usual tales of candelabras after sunset." — MetalSucks

“Heavy pounding Sisters of Mercy styled rhythms are the backbone of this gothic horror story in sound. Vampiric Black Metal, chaotic & cathartic. Strap in!” — Dave Barnard #Short_Tokes / Inhale the Heavy

"It’s a soundtrack into the interior mindset of the villain. It’s intriguing, dark and scary." — Metal Temple

The arc of the story follows a protagonist who as a boy is saved by a strange lady from schoolyard bullies who over the next several weeks each die of unknown causes. Our protagonist goes on to live his life and finds himself a soldier in the Second World War. Restive upon his return from the war, he has a conversation with a wealthy uncle who suggests he might find a career in acting. He pursues this line of work and after ten years of struggle finally lands a meaningful role as a horror movie monster. And here at the beginning of his success, he finds himself falling out of love and realizing that he is meant to follow a solitary life as an on-screen villain. He revels in the vampiric roles until a disillusionment born of typecasting becomes too much. In later life he pines for the simple answers of his war years, and there he is revisited by the image of the woman from the schoolyard of his youth. And he realizes who she was.

Sometimes, it all comes flooding back at once.

Time obscures fine details in one moment, then reveals them clearly the next. Past meets present in a swirling cacophony of memory and emotion — exhilarating and nauseating, terrifying and illuminating. It cannot be described, only experienced.

So goes Vinterdracul's The Lee Variations — where the listener is thrust into the maelstrom of the titular character's vision quest backwards through life as a sinister childhood mystery is unraveled.

Theatrical, melodic, and dynamic — this is maudlin doom playing as raw black metal. The compositions could play happily at half speed and suffer none for it. These 13 tracks are driven by compact songcraft and creative percussion — at no point does this album fall into the trap of droning one-note blasting. Synths punctuate and percolate, providing crystal clear counterpoint to the miasmic guitars — they create cinematic stabs into the psyche of our protagonist.

The voice of the spectre who narrates our voyeurism is harsh but clear — a clarion within the hellish and disorienting Vaudeville on display.

The Lee Variations — an album that is visceral and intentional. If it were possible to describe the aforementioned cacophony of memory and emotion, this is exactly what it would have to sound like.

"The guitar tone is as harsh as any Black Metal band, but the riffs are much starker and more minimal, choosing instead a post-punk flavoured form of menace over the more conventional high-speed fury of most of the genre. The strangled vocals also sound... like the last breaths of a dying man." — Sleeping Village

"On this recording Vinterdracul remain true to the black metal influenced style of gothic rock that they had established on their previous release. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album based upon a vampire and his journeys through life. In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Vinterdracul." — A Different Shade of Black Metal

about

Vinterdracul Baltimore, Maryland

Representing the ongoing vampiric explorations of the multi-instrumentalist duo of Weirding Batweilder and Jean Farraige, this is a project that creates an unnatural monstrosity of blackened gothic sound replete with noise, pummeling beats, and a hoarse whiplash vocal delivery served up pre-dawn in the shadow of a hill of gravestones following the last showing of a midnight horror classic. ... more
